A communicator of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwabena Marfo, has challenged the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to point out any successful social initiative they have implemented during their 16 years of being in a democratic governance.
Joining the discussions on Movement In The Morning Show, Kwabena Marfo fiercely stated the NDC’s claim they are social democrats but cannot point to any social policy they executed.
He said, ‘’since the 4th Republic began, the two parties that has had the most opportunity to rule the country is the NPP and the NDC. The records show that when the two parties got the opportunity to change the livelihood of Ghanaians, the NPP’s did exceptional. Governing a country is not about bricks and mortar- then anybody at all can lead. But it is about being solution oriented’’.
‘’When it comes to social interventions, the NPP government tops it all. We challenge the NDC’s to name any social policy they have successfully introduced. They shamefully talk about e-block and the Komenda sugar factory that almost collapsed. These are not social policies. Social interventions are pro-policies that covers and benefits every home in a country. The NPP’s started implementing the Ghana Card during President Kufuor’s era but unfortunately the party went into opposition, and when the NDC’s assumed power for 8 years, they couldn’t roll out the Ghana card policy’’, he added.
Talking on the benefit of the Ghana card, Kwabena Marfo stated the card will reduce the security threat and mobile theft in the country.
