Parliamentary candidate hopeful on the ticket of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) for Wassa Amenfi East, Ernest Frimpong, has mentioned that Dr. Matthew is the best candidate for the running mate position.
According to him, among the many names that have popped up for the position, the energy Minister Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh who is better known as NAPO is the only influential candidate that would be a best match for Dr. Bawumia.
“Many names have been mentioned for the running mate position but there’s one person that stands tall and that one person is Dr. Matthew Opoku…this is someone who has played a very vital role in the party…he’s helped a lot of people and has developed much love for himself…it is through him that a lot of people are now in better positions in the party…these people includes the General Secretary, Lawyer Justine Koduah Frimpong; National Organizer, Nana B; and youth organizer, Salam Mustapha”, he said.
Speaking on the newspaper review with Kwaku Dawuro on Movement In The Morning show on Movement TV, he said that if the party needs an influential person in the party from the Ashanti region, then it’s no other person than Dr. Opoku Prempeh.
“We cannot choose someone else over NAPO…if we don’t choose him, it will go against the fortunes of the party in the 2024 elections…. we need someone with a track record and is very influential in the party”, he said.
