Awal Mohammed, a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) communications team, has come out in defense of President Nana Addo’s legacy, stating that Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh’s comparison of Nana Addo’s and Dr. Nkrumah’s achievements is an understatement.
In an interview on the ‘Movement In The Morning’ show with Dasebre Agyei Dwamena, Awal highlighted the significant progress made in the fire service sector under the current administration.
He noted that the number of fire service personnel has increased from 8,000 to 15,000 since 2017, and that 40 fire tenders have been added to enhance operations, addressing a previous shortage.
Additionally, Awal mentioned that five rescue vehicles have been provided for emergency responses, and a turntable machine has been acquired to combat severe fires.
He also pointed out that the fire service school has been expanded to additional regions, including the Northern Region, Ashanti Region, and others.
Awal reiterated that NAPO’s statement, which compared Nana Addo’s achievements to those of Dr. Nkrumah, was an understatement. This implies that the current government’s accomplishments surpass those of previous administrations, including Nkrumah’s era.
