Flagbearer for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia, has announced that if elected in the upcoming December polls as the next President, National service will no longer be mandatory for tertiary leavers.
Delivering a national addressing dubbed BAWUMIA SPEAKS at the University of Professional Studies, Accra, the Vice President noted that “National service will no longer be mandatory, and students will have the option to decide whether to do national service. This will also encourage companies to go to campuses for recruitment annually,” he said”.
Adding that those who after their education can secure jobs, will be exempted from National Service.
He furthered that his government would make coding and robotics standards in Senior High School…”the foundation of this is being laid with the provision of laptops to students in Senior High School”.
