Dr. Kwabena Kokofu, has dismissed the opposition National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) attempts to revive the political fortunes of former President John Dramani Mahama.
According to Dr. Kokofu, the NDC is haunted by the ghosts of Mahama’s past failures, and his re-emergence as a presidential candidate is a reminder of his inability to deliver meaningful progress during his previous tenure.
Dr. Kokofu contrasted Mahama’s lackluster performance with the visionary leadership of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, who has demonstrated a keen understanding of the challenges facing Ghana and has proposed innovative solutions to address them.
Speaking in an interview on UTV, monitored by movementtvonline, he said “while Mahama’s NDC is touting a vague “24-hour economy” policy, Dr. Bawumia has already leveraged digitalization to implement practical initiatives that are transforming the economy.”
Dr. Kokofu ridiculed the NDC’s 24-hour economy idea, as they members of the NDC have explained that the policy suggested that it would lead to absurd scenarios like people selling grasscutters in the dead of night
. He expressed confidence in Dr. Bawumia’s ability to lead Ghana forward, citing his admission that times are hard but his proactive approach to addressing the challenges.
Dr. Kokofu mentioned that the NDC is in disarray, unable to present a credible alternative to Dr. Bawumia’s visionary leadership.
“As the nation moves forward, it is clear that the choice between progress and retrogression is stark, and Dr. Bawumia’s leadership is the only way forward,” he said.
