Broadcast Journalist working with Wontumi Multimedia, Dasebre Agyei Dwamena, has disclosed that there are some NPP Parliamentary candidate hopefuls in the Ashanti region, who are been sponsored by the NDC and thus, although they seem to be affiliated to the ruling government, they have a different agenda.
“These are the candidates who are doing everything possible to denigrate Chairman Wontumi in the region. It is for this reason they have cooked up stories against Chairman Wontumi, to create hatred for him in the region using Otumfuo Osei Tutu II…”, he said.
He cautioned such candidates to desist from such acts and agendas because they can never destroy Chairman Wontumi’s reputation in the region.
The false allegation reported that” BERNARD ANTWI Boasiako, aka ‘Wontumi’, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has allegedly caused a massive stir. The outspoken politician, who claims to be fabulously rich, is alleged to have challenged the powers and authority of the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II. Wontumi, without provocation, is alleged to have stated in public that he would challenge Otumfuo if he (Wontumi) disagrees on an issue with the Asante King.
According to reports, the NPP guru also stated that he has built his own kingdom in Kumasi, so he is not afraid of anybody, including Otumfuo. “I have built my own kingdom, I have my own police and military, and I will speak my mind to Otumfuo if I disagree on an issue with him (Otumfuo)”.Wontumi is reported to have passed these disrespectful remarks about Otumfuo during the vetting of NPP parliamentary aspirants in Kumasi last week. According to reports, all those present at the vetting venue, including Lawyer Henry Nana Boakye aka ‘Nana B’ became stunned by Wontumi’s open show of power and arrogance.
