The Public Relations Officer for the Ministry of Education (MOE), Kwasi Kwarteng, has said that students who were caught up in the raging Russian-Ukraine war, will not be left behind in the school integration process.
Speaking on Movement in the Morning Political Show, he assured students that the MoE and the Government of Ghana are consulting the various stakeholders to design better strategies and secure schools for everyone.
Some students who were evacuated home from Ukraine due to the Russian invasion have said they have regretted coming home because government has allegedly neglected them.
Speaking on the above, he said, “We have not abandoned the students. We have compiled their complaint and we are working with it. We are doing everything possible to have all the students continue their education in the various medical institutions. We have received their data from their leaders but we need to go through the process because we cannot just get up and put them in a school’’
“I want assure students and their parents that no one will be left behind” he added
On 1st March, the first batch of students from Ukraine arrived in Ghana. The minister for Foreign Affairs, Shirley Ayorkor Botchway disclosed that the second batch of students were expected to arrive the following week.
