The President of the Republic of Ghana, President Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo, has stated emphatically that no public sector worker was dismissed when the pandemic hit the country in 2020.
Speaking at the 2022 National Annual Delegates Conference in Accra, President Akufo- Addo said his government demonstrated concern for the working people of Ghana.
“Workers had to stay at home during the pandemic yet no one was sacked and they were paid in full every month; their jobs were protected. We gave them free water and electricity as well. Although the country is currently confronted with challenges, we are geared towards reviving the economy through the International Monetary Fund (IMF) support’’, he said.
He applauded the party for their great organizational skills and promised the same unity and coherence will guide the party in future.
