Ashanti Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Bernard Antwi Boasiako, Bernard Antwi Boasiako better known as Chairman Wontumi, has praised the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government’s contributions to the region’s progress, particularly in road construction.
Speaking at the Ashanti Regional Bawumia 2024 (B24) conference held at Ratary Park in Kumasi, Mr. Boasiako highlighted President Akufo-Addo’s and the NPP government’s efforts to improve infrastructure in the region.
“The NPP government has made significant strides in developing the Ashanti Region,” Mr. Boasiako stated.
“Since 2017, we have completed 1,180 kilometers of roads, including 264 kilometers of highway roads, 495 kilometers of urban roads, and 421 kilometers of feeder roads,” he said.
Additionally, Mr. Boasiako noted that the Suame Interchange in Kumasi has been completed, further enhancing transportation infrastructure in the region.
The NPP government has also provided brand-new trucks and allocated GH¢10 billion for road projects, demonstrating its commitment to improving connectivity and accessibility.
In another significant development, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, NPP flag bearer, has assured that the Ghana card will be accepted at tertiary institutions to alleviate financial challenges.
Mr. Boasiako concluded his address with a rallying call, urging supporters to back the NPP in upcoming elections. “We will vote massively for NPP,” he declared.
These developments underscore the NPP government’s dedication to enhancing the Ashanti Region’s infrastructure and quality of life, bolstering its position as a key driver of Ghana’s economic growth.
