A member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP)’s national communication team, Lady Vera has noted that despite the economic challenges faced the country resulting from the global crisis, the government is still delivering on its mandate.
Outlining some achievements of the government amidst the global crisis on Movement in the Morning show on Movement Television and Wontumi Radio in Accra, Lady Vera said that “some Ghanaians intentionally increased their products and later turned to blame the government which is sheer wickedness- the economic hardship is all over the world and every country is struggling”.
“Amidst the difficulties, the government is still trying it’s possible best to make sure that its pro-poor policies are not affected. Free SHS is currently running, likewise an increase in the Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP). Most of the senior high schools in the country now have extra classrooms, dormitories, dining halls among other facilities”, she added.
In conclusion, she clarified that the perception among the populace that the members of the governing party are benefitting much more from the government is false. She noted that they are equally feeling the brunt of the economic hardship like the ordinary Ghanaian.
