The first vice chairman of Dome- Kwabenya, constituency, Paul Opoku, has noted that the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has been very consistent as a party.
Buttressing his point on Movement in the morning on Wontumi Radio/Movement TV, Paul Opoku made reference to the popular phrase of President Akufo-Addo during his nation’s address on COVID-19 “This too shall pass, and we know how to bring back the economy back to life, what we don’t know is how to bring dead people back to life”- which according to him, the government has stood by its words and has been consistent in working towards that.
“Right from 2016, the NPP has kept saying the battle is the Lord’s and indeed it has continued to be the Lord’s. Despite several mocking from some naysayers”, he said.
Paul Opoku further said that when the government decided of seek for a bailout from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the National Democratic Congress (NDC), said there was no way the government could secure a staff-level agreement by December, but the government has been able to do so.
“They have never said anything good about the country. They have plotted with the rating agencies to always rate us low, just so to make the government and party unpopular”, he noted.
He added that “There are so many measures the Vice President, and the Economic Management Team rolled out, when the country was faced with challenges which includes the Gold for oil policy, halt on importation of certain commodities and also promote produces made in Ghana”.
