The deputy National Communications Director for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), George Krobea Asante, has said the NPP has lifted the Eastern Corridor road from 27 kilometres to 74 kilometres.
Speaking with Kwaku Dawuro on Movement In The Morning Show, Mr. Krobea Asante stated the Nana Addo led administration has increased the project by 47% percent.
He said that ”there is clear difference between the NPP and the National Democratic Congress (NDC), out of the 497 roads, NDC constructed 135 and the NPP has constructed 366. They could not work on a single road from Oti to Yendi-the 96 kilometers of road have now been constructed. The Eastern Corridor road has been lifted from 27 kilometres to 74 kilometres”.
According to the deputy Minister for Roads and Highways, Hon. Stephen P. Jululah revealed that the construction of the Jasikan-Dodo Pepesu Road (Km0-56.4) is completed whiles the Oti Damanko-Gbinti Road (Lot 5 & 6), the reconstruction of the Hohoe-Jasikan (30Km) and the Nkwanta -Oti Damanko (B -12km) currently stand at 92 per cent, 75.5 per cent and 71 per cent physical completion respectively.
”The 695km corridor traverses Greater Accra, Eastern, Volta, Oti, Northern and Upper East regions and connects major towns like Tema, Atimpoku, Asikuma Junction, Peki, Kpeve, Golokwati, Hohoe, Jasiken, Nkwanta, Bimbilla, Yendi, Gushiegu, Nakpanduri, Garu, Bawku and Kulungugu”, he added.
