The Deputy General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Prof. Haruna Mohammed has emphatically stated that the party isn’t charging development levy in orphan constituencies.
According to him, NPP has never charged development fee in any orphan constituency and thus, urged those taking such an unapproved fee to return it or face consequences.
“Per the statement guiding the process for the Parliamentary and Presidential primaries on 4th July, there’s nothing like development levy for those in the orphan constituency it’s only charged in constituencies where NPP has a sitting Member of Parliament”, he said in an exclusive interview with Kwaku Dawuro.
“I repeat, the NPP has never charged development fees in orphan constituencies”, he emphasized.
This comes after it emerged that some regional executives were charging aspirants developmental fees in some orphan constituencies.
