NPP Is A Peaceful Party, We Are Not Cowards- Lakulaku

A communication Team member for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Suleman Abubakar, has said that members of the party are not cowards but for the peace of the country, they try to also disassociate themselves from violence.

He made reference to what happened in 2012 elections, when the NPP had lost the elections and youth of the party protested at the Obra spots in Accra. “You realized the was a crucial meeting when the steering committee met the national council, and they got to realized that if the youth are not called to order, it may escalate into mayhem, hence the Presidential candidate then (Nana Akufo-Addo) coupled with some leaders went to circle to tell the youth to calm their horses. This tells how responsible and reasonable our leaders are”, he said.

He added that even though President Akufo-Addo in 2012 never accepted the election results, he went ahead to congratulate former President Mahama. Yet, when President Akufo-Addo won the 2020 elections, up till now Mr. Mahama hadn’t been able to congratulate the former because he didn’t accept the results.

“Although Nana Addo wasn’t pleased with the results in 2012, he congratulated the winner in order for peace to reign”, he explained.

Lakulaku furthered that Ghanaians have trust in the NPP government. Although they know that the country is faced with hardship, they equally know that Ghana is not in isolation.
