First Vice constituency chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Dome-Kwabenya, Paul Opoku has said that former President Mahama never inspire hope and therefore leading the country as President will only spell doom for Ghana.
He explained that even as a President, Mahama never preached hope to Ghanaians.
“When businesses were collapsing as a result of dumsor, the only thing he could say to Ghanaians was that they were rich enough to buy mobile phones which had resulted in the power outages. Is that the hope we want as a country…anything he opens his mouth to speak, it’s all about doom”, he said.
He told Kwaku Dawuro that Mahama hasn’t been able to even give a single policy that inspires hope.
“How can a political party that pride itself as socialites yet, cancel every policy that supports the poor, they cancelled it. Even the little pro poor and interventions, they cancelled it including medical insurance, free maternal care, teacher training allowance, nursing training allowance among others”, he lamented.
Stressing that even after squandering $300M on the National Identification card, which was introduced by former President Kufuor, the NDC wasn’t able to produce one card.
“NPP is a political party that inspires hope. The alternative is scary”, he concluded.
