The acting Executive Director for Ghana Museums and Monuments Board, Kingsley Ofosu Ntiamoah, has revealed that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is the first political party in history to have employed over 50 workers in the sector.
He said this when he joined the discussion on Movement In the Morning Show on Tuesday, 28th June, 2022.
He said, ‘’the highest number of people that have been employed in the museum sector since independence under any government are six. When we assumed power, we realized that the workforce was low so we went took to public service commission and they gave us a technical clearance to employ 50 people at a goal and plans are currently underway to employ more people’’.
He added that the vision of President Akufo-Addo is to boost the tourism sector to boom the economy.
“We decided to make the museum more attractive by renovating it. We currently have 7 public museums in the country. The Ho museum since 1979 has not been renovated but now we have renovated it and the national museum has also been renovated since it was put up in 1957. There were a lot of defect at the national museum especially so management closed it down for renovation and today it has become one of the leading museums in the country’’, he stated.
