Chairperson for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), for Canada branch, Vicky Owusu-Ansah, has described the party has very democratic.
She expressed delight in the conduct of the electoral process so far, noting that the national executives of the party have been very fair with the process, especially with the Presidential primaries as nobody was disqualified. All 10 aspirants were left to contest.
“I want to use this opportunity to applaud our national executives for their conduct so far. Nobody was deliberately disqualified or restrain from contesting the election…it’s been fair and transparent so far…and if we want to see our party grow, then this is the way to go…because, when we prevent people from contesting or deliberately disqualifying them, then apathy will set in which will go against our fortunes in the general elections”, she said on Movement TV.
‘I’m happy all ten aspirants were made to contest…and that is why it has become necessary that we hold the super delegate conference”, she added.
Stressing that all ten aspirants are competent and capable of contesting the election for the party.
“My prayer is that we continue to remain united and come together as a party before, during and after the internal elections…like the guidelines set out by the executives of the party, we will ensure that we refrain from insults and actions that brings disunity”, she told Kwaku Dawuro the host.
