Some Members of Parliament who are part of the Majority Caucus are calling for the removal of the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, and the Minister of State at the Finance Ministry, Charles Adu Boahen.
This was made known by the MPs on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, in Parliament.
The Member of Parliament for Asante-Akim North Constituency, Andy Kwame Appiah-Kubi, who spoke on behalf of the caucus said, sacking Ofori-Atta and Adu Boahen will help restore confidence in Ghana’s economy.
Failure to do this, they will stage a boycott for the 2023 annual budget hearing and also will not partake in any other government business.
Meanwhile, elsewhere the former Finance Minister of the UK, Kwasi Kwarteng resigned 38 days after taking his role, after Prime Minister Liz Truss asked for his resignation.
As the calls for the sacking of Finance Minister Ken Ofori Atta heightens, is he likely to resign?
