NPP’s Election Victory Would Have Changed Ghana’s Atmosphere for the Worse – Hon. Clement Wilkinson

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for GA West Municipal Assembly, Hon. Clement Wilkinson, has made a startling revelation that if the New Patriotic Party (NPP) had emerged victorious in the 2024 general elections, the atmosphere in Ghana would have changed for the worse.

In an exclusive interview with Kwaku Dawuro on Movement In The Morning show on Movement TV/Wontumi Radio, Wilkinson expressed deep concerns about the potential chaos that would have erupted if the NPP had won the elections. He cited instances of young men carrying guns and perpetuating violence, which would have led to a breakdown in law and order.

“The atmosphere would have been charged, and the country would have been plunged into chaos,” Wilkinson warned.

He noted that NPP’s victory would have emboldened their supporters, leading to a rise in vigilantism and lawlessness.

Wilkinson also emphasized the need for neutrality among party executives to settle disputes between the two main parties. He argued that the executives’ impartiality would help to reduce tensions and prevent conflicts.

The MCE attributed the NPP’s loss in the Ahafo region to the citizens’ loss of hope in the party. He explained that the party’s failure to deliver on its promises had led to widespread disillusionment among the electorate.

“The people of Ahafo region felt betrayed by the NPP, and they decided to express their dissatisfaction through the ballot box,” Wilkinson said.

“The low voter turnout in the region was a clear indication of the people’s loss of faith in the NPP.”

Wilkinson specifically mentioned that some citizens did not vote due to their dissatisfaction with President-elect John Dramani Mahama’s opponent. He argued that the opponent’s policies and actions had alienated many voters, who ultimately decided to stay away from the polls.

“The outcome of the elections was a clear rejection of the NPP’s policies and a vote of no confidence in their leadership,” Wilkinson declared. “The people of Ghana have spoken, and it’s time for the NPP to listen and learn from their mistakes.”
