A communications team member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alfred Ababio Kumi, also known as Adenta Kumi, has said that the era of founding fathers in the party is outmoded.
In an interview with Kwaku Dawuro on Movement TV/Wontumi Radio, Adenta Kumi explained that the party’s failure to extend opportunities to young supporters has led to widespread anger and apathy.
This sentiment was reflected in the low voter turnout in the December 7th elections, with many Ghanaians and NPP supporters choosing not to participate. Adenta Kumi emphasized that this is a wake-up call for the NPP, highlighting the need for the party to reconnect with its grassroots supporters.
He also noted that the party’s leaders have lost touch with the people, leading to a sense of disconnection and disillusionment.
Adenta Kumi concluded by announcing that the party will conduct a thorough post-mortem analysis to identify the root causes of its current challenges.
