A seasoned politician and former Executive Director of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Dr. Kwabena Kokofu, has thrown his hat into the ring, expressing his interest in becoming the running mate of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
In a recent interview, Dr. Kokofu exuded confidence and humility, highlighting his strengths and qualifications for the role. “By the grace of God, we are knowledgeable, with good human relations,” he said, referencing his extensive experience in politics, governance, and public service.
However, Dr. Kokofu was quick to shift the focus to Dr. Bawumia, praising his leadership and vision for the country.
“The flagbearer is extremely knowledgeable and has his own plans,” he acknowledged.
“All you can do is to support him and understand what his plans are,” he added.
Dr. Kokofu’s comments were seen as a testament to his commitment to the party’s success and his willingness to put the party’s interests above his own.
He emphasized the importance of unity and collective effort, saying, “We need to work together to achieve our goals. It’s not about individual aspirations, but about the party’s success.”
Despite his own impressive credentials, Dr. Kokofu refused to “blow his own horn,” instead choosing to highlight Dr. Bawumia’s leadership and vision.
He expressed gratitude to God for his own abilities and experiences, saying, “God has been good to us, and we are capable.”
