A national communications team member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Maame Afia Akoto, has called out broadcast Journalist, Oheneba Nana Asiedu for the recent utterances made by the latter.
This comes after Oheneba had alleged that Chairman Wontumi was the main target in a food poisoning saga that led to the death of former deputy Finance Minister, John Kumah.
Providing details on the meal Chairman Wontumi and John Kumah had shared before tragedy hit yesterday, Oheneba stated on Wontumi TV that a stranger gifted the two-guinea fowl meat popularly known as ‘akonfeh’ at Mariam Hotel in Tamale.
However, speaking on Movement In The Morning show on Movement TV, Maame Afia noted that “Oheneba has reduced the NPP Ashanti regional chairman’s intelligence…. this is someone who is very trained in security details. So how can Oheneba reduce Chairman Wontumi to that level”.
She added that Oheneba has disrespected Chairman Wontumi.
“Do you think Ashanti is a small region that the regional chairman for such a great party could be reduced to that level… it is the biggest region in Ghana, and you cannot reduce his security details to that level…”, she said.
“On 22nd October we were at Tamale to assist Dr. Bawumia over there with his campaign. When we got to Mariam Hotel, someone brought them akonfeh and they ate it. At 1am Chairman called my phone fifteen (15) times and when I returned his calls, he couldn’t pick up. I knocked his door for more than 3 minutes and when he finally came to open the door, he was in his boxer shorts and had vomited all over the place- on his bed, floor and the washroom”, Oheneba Nana Asiedu said on Friday.
