Otto Addo has returned to Dortmund after leading Ghana to the 2022 FIFA World Cup last month in Qatar.
The former Ghana international rejoined the German club to continue working as trainer scout. The Ghana Football Association (GFA) appointed Otto Addo to lead the Black Stars in the play-off against Nigeria.
He masterminded the Black Stars’ impressive performances in Kumasi and Abuja as they defeated the Super Eagles to qualify for the World Cup for the fourth time.
The GFA has yet to name a permanent coach for the Black Stars, but Addo is the favourite because President Nana Akufo-Addo has endorsed him.
When Akufo-Addo hosted the Black Stars at Jubilee House a day after the Abuja match, he asked the GFA to keep the technical team at least until the World Cup in November before signing a long-term contract.
It is understood that GFA will appoint a substantive coach for the Black Stars soon.
