Peter Amewu May Not Contest The Hohoe Seat Again- NPP Volta Regional Organizer Discloses

The Volta Regional organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kosi Bodja, has disclosed that Hohoe MP, Peter Amewu is likely not to contest again.

Speaking on Movement In The Morning show on Movement TV with Kwaku Dawuro, he noted that although he cannot disclose what the reason is, but from the conversations he’s had with him, he doesn’t get the impression that he wants to be committed to the seat again.

“This is someone who is always supporting the party and its faithful…he’s committed to the party in the region…when it comes to development in volta region, Hohoe takes the lead, and this is because of Peter Amewu..He has done a lot for the party in the region”, he said.

“Look at the figures from the 2016 and 2020 elections…it is only Buhari that could has done what Amewu did…if you see the figures that Buhari overturned, it is only Amewu in Ghana that has been able to do that…from where the party was in 2016 and the kind of magic Amewu was able to perform, by overturning about 30,000 votes is just amazing and commendable…”,he added.

He however bemoaned the heavy involvement of tribalism in our Ghanaian politics…

“The Ashantis will vote for NPP because of certain reasons and the voltarians will certainly vote for the NDC for certain reason…so when you want to change their mindsets, it comes in two folds. you first look at their emotional interest and developmental interest”, he stressed.
