Statement below…
Today, at the 55th Session of the Executive Council and the 25th Session of the General Assembly of the International Civil Defence Organization (ICDO), I have been elected as a member of the Executive Council of the General Assembly.
Significantly, this is the first time Ghana is serving on the council, with all the 60-member countries present supporting my bid unanimously making my representation as the only Anglophone Sub-Saharan African on the council.
I would also like to congratulate my Tunisian and Nicaragua counterparts for winning the Chairmanship and Vice Chairmanship positions respectively.
