The Chief Executive Officer(CEO) for the Public Sector Reforms, Thomas Kusi Boafo, has called for the removal of Bank of Ghana (BOG) boss, Dr. Ernest Kwamina Yedu Addison over the Finance Minister Ken Ofori Atta.
His comment comes after the Ghana cedi has witnessed high depreciation against the dollar.
Speaking with Kwaku Dawuro on Movement In The Morning Show Kusi Boafo said that “BOG is not doing what they are supposed to do- they have the dollars but syndicated thievery is going on in there. That is where the dollar is stored so how come it ends up at the black market?”.
”If you go to the black market they have primary, secondary and illegal market – there’s a price difference in the illegal market and that is where the problem is. And when they are done they connive and share the profit. The banks are given foreign currencies and they are supposed to protect and regulate it”, he added.
He added that majority of the people are calling for the removal of Ken Ofori Atta, meanwhile the genesis of the problem is coming from BOG himself, stressing Dr. Addison must be removed.
