A communications member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Awal Mohammed, has advised John Mahama to review the National Democratic Congress (NDC) party rather than going about saying judges detest him.
Former President John Dramini recently said the judiciary has a ‘broken image’ and has lost public confidence, recommending the need for a new Chief Justice.
Speaking to Kwaku Dawuro on Movement In The Morning Show, Awal Mohammed said that ‘’there is no single NDC lawyer who can meet the standard of lawyer Godfred Dame. He has won ten cases against the National Democratic Congress (NDC) lawyers, even against Tsatsu Tsikata. He is very learned. Everything they are saying about Lawyer Dame is just out of greed. Being a former leader of the bar, it was right for him to describe Mahama’ s comment as deplorable’’.
He added that ‘’Mahama has taken judges to the cleaners and the NDC lawyers sat there without saying anything. This is the same person who has taken ex-gratia more than 20 years and is still taking. His continues bastardization of state institution is not helping, if he wants to win elections, he should not diminish the image of others- no judge or lawyer hates him, he should have a second look at his party”.
‘’We all respect him as former President. He is an institution people can learn from, looking at his political record’’, he stated.
Mr. Mahama lost the general elections in 2016 and re-contested in 2020 but took the electoral commission to court, challenged the verdict and the declaration of President Akufo-Addo as the President elect.
