Managing Director for State Housing Company Ltd, Kwabena Ampofo Appiah has defended government’s decision to begin a new housing project rather than continue with the Saglemi Housing project started by the erstwhile John Mahama administration.
He said that the Saglemi housing project was a waste of time and resources.
Speaking in an exclusive interview on phone with Kwaku Dawuro on Movement In The Morning show on Movement TV, he said that he would never advise that government completes the project.
“We have to make good use of our resources by not wasting money…because every little fund that goes waste would have salvaged a problem elsewhere….in fact, ten times better and beneficial…the government should use the saglemi housing project for something else…a good citizen wouldn’t waste resources on such project…Government should adopt ways to put it into good use so that there will be returns on investment”, he said.
This comes after government had cut sod in Accra on Tuesday for works to begin on the National Affordable Housing Project which will see to the construction of some 8,000 units with the support of the private sector to be located at Amasaman and Dedesua.
