A lecturer at the Kumasi Technical University, Dr. Ishaq has criticized former President Mahama, saying his administration has been embroiled in scandalous scandals barely three months into office.
The lecturer has sounded the alarm on the dangers of the cocaine business in Ghana, warning that it could become a serious issue if left unchecked.
In an interview on the Wontumi morning show, Dr. Ishaq revealed that the cocaine trade is often accompanied by money laundering, a practice that can have severe consequences for the country’s economy.
This comes on after Assin South MP, Rev. Ntim Fordjour during a Press briefing specifically mentioned two private aircraft—AirMed flight N823AM and Cavok Air—which reportedly landed at Kotoka International Airport in March 2025 carrying suspicious cargo believed to be cocaine and cash.
According to Dr. Ishaq, the cocaine business is a complex issue that can lead to a range of problems, including terrorism financing, economic instability, and delay. He cautioned that if the situation is not addressed, it could distract the government and have far-reaching consequences within a short period, potentially within three months.
“The cocaine business is a serious issue that requires urgent attention. If we don’t take proactive measures to prevent it, it could lead to a situation where our economy is severely impacted, and our government is distracted from addressing other pressing issues.”
To combat this threat, Dr. Ishaq calls for a multi-faceted approach that involves government agencies, law enforcement, and the public.
“This requires a coordinated effort to disrupt the supply chain, apprehend those involved”, he said.
