Security Beefed Up In Krobea Asante Tech. Following Vandalism- DCE

The District Chief Executive of Asokore East, Honorable Osei Adiyiah has served notice that security will be beefed up in the Krobea Asante Technical and Vocational School following the vandalism.

This comes on the back of mayhem caused by some students at the school during the weekend that led to destruction of several properties.

Speaking on Movement in the morning show, Hon. Adiyiah noted that they were notified that the students were demonstrating and destroying school properties but currently (at the time of the interview) he’s unable to tell what really necessitated the act. However, security briefings were being held to know what exactly the cause is.

“I therefore communicated with the Regional Minister, hon Simon Osei-Mensah who ordered the immediate temporarily shutting down of the school. The security agencies are ensuring that there’s peace within the entire community to ensure that the students do not do worse than they’ve done”, he told Kwaku Dawuro.

“Whatever be the reason, they have no right to do what they did. They could have channeled whatever grievances they had to the right authorities for proper address than to take the law into their own hands”, he added.

The motive for the destruction is unclear but there are suggestions it could be linked to their dissatisfaction with the poor performance of their predecessors in the 2022 end-of-year examination.

About 40 students have been invited by the Police to assist with investigations.
