Sports Ministry Pays Black Princesses Outstanding Bonuses

The Youth and Sports Ministry has finally paid the outstanding bonus owed to the Black Princesses.

The players had been awaiting payment of $6,000 each for their performance during the three qualifying rounds of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, a debt that has been pending since January of this year.

Joy Sports reported that, the Sports Ministry has now made the payments, although each player received a revised amount of $4,500.

The Black Princesses are currently gearing up to represent Ghana for the seventh consecutive time at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, which will take place in Colombia starting on August 31.

Ghana has been drawn into Group E, where they will face Japan, Austria, and New Zealand, as they aim to advance beyond the group stages for the first time in the tournament’s history.

The team, along with their technical staff, has been in intensive preparation over the past few months in Cape Coast, and they are expected to play several friendly matches before departing for the competition.
