Member of communication team for the New Patriotic Party, Ellen Daaku, has sent a stern warning to the financial Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta to step down.
Speaking on Movement In The Morning with Kwaku Dawuro on Movement TV/ Wontumi Radio, Ellen Daaku was of the view that the financial minister, was supposed to step down during the COVID-19 pandemic especially after being a victim of it.
She said ”He really performed when we first came into power because there were no problems, despite the fact that he did his best during the COVID-19, i personally think he should have stepped down considering the fact that he was a victim.
”We are all humans, but i don’t know what influenced his decision to stay in position till today. Now people in opposition have brought about vote of censure which I’m sure the committee should be done in a week time. so i’ll plead with our MPs to calm down, between now and the time the censure will be carried out, he would have decided.”
She added that ”The reason he feels it is too late to step down is because he has been accused of several things, so he ought to explain himself otherwise it’ll escalate and turn into another issue. All the lies being said about him have been scripted so he needs to come clear before he steps down.
”i understand in a way that the committee holds powers as the high court does, so it is just as you being brought before court, so He’ll speak tomorrow which afterwards, I’d advise he steps down since he’s done enough. As a good citizen, i’ll plead with the MPs again to calm down but if he refuses after everything, he will hear from us.”
