The Ashanti Regional First Vice Chairman for the New Patriotic Party, Hon Kwabena Nsenkyire has called on members of his party to stop attacking Hon. Frema Opare.
According to him, the first female chief of staff for the Republic of Ghana is an asset to the country and an icon for women specifically.
He said that, “Frema Opare is the only woman in Ghana to make history, and she has played a very significant role in the victory of the New Patriotic Party in the Ashanti Region. We should be proud of her achievement and for changing the narrative of women taking up top leadership roles’’.
He stressed that, he is ready to fight anyone who attacks the chief of staff. He went on to encouraged members of the party to reduce the baseless accusations.
Barely a month ago, Frema Opare was allegedly said to have donated 50,000 cedis to aid Afia Schwarzenegger in her father’s funeral. According to some angry NPP foot soldiers, the party must cease from awarding opportunistic media persons who parade themselves as political influencers at the expense of party faithful’s.
Hon. Frema Opare is the first female to break the barrier by serving as the chief of staff for two terms for Ghana’s 4th Republic. She was a former head of department- home of science at the University of Ghana and a two-time member of parliament for the Ayawaso West Wuogon.
