Stop Ibrahim Mahama From Mining In The Forest Zone- Chairman Wontumi Tells John Mahama

Chairman Wontumi has accused Mr. John Mahama of being jealous and envious his mining operation.

The Ashanti regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) decided to go after the former President after the latter falsely accused him of engaging in illegal mining.

During the 2024 manifesto launch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) at Winneba in the Central region, Mr. Mahama didn’t stick to factual statements when he spoke on the operations of Akonta Mining Ltd at Samreboi.

The 2024 flagbearer of the NDC is on record to have said “If I’m elected as the president of Ghana after December 7, 2024, I will drive all those mining in forest zones, including Akonta Mining, out of these areas,” Mahama declared. “They should start packing before we come after them,” he said.

Speaking on the Wontumi Morning Show, Chairman Wontumi revealed that he had expected former President John Mahama to name his brother Ibrahim Mahama when as the person he will drive away from the forest zone.

“I share a boundary with Ibrahim at Mpohor. He is mining there. Why didn’t you (Mahama) mention his name? Why didn’t you mention your brother who you cooked the airbus scandal with? He has been accused by an international court of corruption”, Chairman Wontumi said.

Chairman Wontumi named Mr. John Mahama as someone who dislikes him because of the way his businesses flourish.

“You seized my equipment in 2013 and collapsed my business; despite all you did to me I am still standing on my feet. Ain’t you afraid of me?” he quizzed.
