The Member of Parliament for Asante Akim North, Hon. Andy Appiah Kubi has questioned the credibility of North Tongu MP, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, to conduct a probe into the controversies surrounding the return of Aisha Huang.
Speaking to Kwaku Dawuro on Movement in the morning show, he asked, “In what capacity is he going to conduct such an investigation. What does he even know on the laws of mining- he puts himself out as all-knowing, but he knows nothing”.
Adding that, “there are institutions we must empower to work. You as an individual if you are told to conduct an investigation, where do you start and where do you end. Does he think he is more competent than the relevant institutions responsible for that? He shouldn’t be wasting our time with the ranting.”
The lawmaker stressed that the call for an independent probe into the Aisha Huang saga is an attempt to score political points.
This comes after the North Tongu MP, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has called for an independent investigation into ‘galamsey’ kingpin, Aisha Huang’s return to the country.
Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa said this is the only way the suspect and her accomplices will be punished.
The outspoken lawmaker said Aisha Huang cannot be left off the shook this time.
