A member of the NPP’s communication team, Nana Kay has advised members of both NPP and NDC to stop deceiving Ghanaians on their quest to fight Galamsey.
According to him, if both parties will agree and desist from the act, the menace could be tackled easily- rather than the rhetoric.
“Are people not jailed every day for illegal mining? Yet are people still not engaged in illegal mining? It’s about time we tell ourselves the truth. The galamsey menace happening in this country could only stop if both NPP and NDC will desist from the act. We know people who belong to both NPP and NDC who are engaged in galamsey but we don’t want to mention their names because they are our friends”, he said on Movement in the morning show on Movement TV/ Wontumi Radio.
He continued that between 2015 and 2016 there were gurus of the NDC who were kingpins in galamsey in the Eastern region and likewise there were gurus of the NPP doing same in the Ashanti region.
He added that when the NPP came into power, some government officials have taken advantage of the menace and are also mining illegally.
“There are people who went for license for prospecting but ended up mining. This is a clear indication that someone has failed on his job and must be sacked…”, Nana Kay said.
In furtherance, he dared the NDC to come out boldly and deny that they don’t know those in their party who are involved in illegal mining better known as galamsey.
“They should stop this nonsense. Let’s stop the greediness……If you want to do mining, then do proper mining”, he fumed.
