A Lecturer at the Kumasi Technical University, Dr. Solomon Fokuo has predicted a win for John Boadu (JB), who’s vying to be retained as the General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party(NPP).
He has however indicated that the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Bernard Antwi Bosiako will play a major role in ensuring this becomes a reality.
Speaking to Oheneba Nana Asiedu on Movement In The Morning Show he explained that “Chairman Wontumi is a golden boy not just within the NPP but Ghanaian politics. So if such a person with so much credibility throws his weight behind you in an election, definitely you will emerge victorious. This is someone who was predicted to lose an election by many pollsters, but rather turned out to win massively. Going to an election as crucial as this you need support from someone with a much bigger credibility”.
“So Honestly speaking, at this moment it will be very difficult for anything to change JB from winning as the General Secretary. Forget about the seers and their spirituality, nothing can change it. Did Kwaku Bonsam not lose an election, likewise Osofo Kyereabosom; God hasn’t got time for things like this, he’s busy protecting us. Let’s stop talking about spirituality and talk about reality. Moreover the elections will be held physically and not spiritually”, he added.
He further advised delegates to think beyond pettiness as they go to the polls.
“You’re going to compete with the likes of Asiedu Nketiah during the 2024 campaign and therefore you must be careful about the kind of leaders you will elect on Saturday, July 16”, he stated.
