Greater Accra regional Director of elections for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Ebenezer Doku has disclosed that the only thing that he felt disappointed about during the super delegates conference was the pocket of violence.
He noted that this is something the party shouldn’t entertain at all.
He said on Movement In The Morning show on Movement TV/ Wontumi Radio that this is something the party wasn’t expecting, and such felt disappointed.
” I was expecting that all ten candidates and party executives would have openly condemned the violence that transpired during the super delegates conference…it doesn’t matter whose member was victimized. there was the need for party executive to condemn the act…it doesn’t speak well of us as a party. The NPP is a party of peace and democracy and as such, these things are not expected. It wouldn’t have been surprising if it had happened in the NDC”, he said.
He further that the onus lies on the grassroot members to decide the fate of the party.
“The grassroot members will decide the future of NPP and the direction we are to take as a party…When they are given the chance to elect their flagbearer, they will be willing to work assiduously to ensure the party wins the 2024 elections”, he added.
