The NDC Attacks The Judiciary Without Legal Basis And Justification- Maurice Ampaw

A legal private practitioner, Maurice Ampaw, has said that the NDC has always attacked the judiciary without any legal basis and justification.

According to him, the NDC has always chastised the judiciary for cases which never went into their favour but will commend the same judiciary when their cases are won.

He told Kwaku Dawuro on Movement in the morning show on Wontumi Radio/Movement TV that they legal team that led the Member of Parliament (MP) for Jomoro, Dorcas Affo-Toffey, to win her case, should go and tell John Dramani Mahama and the NDC including Ofosu Ampofo and Asiedu Nketia that the court they don’t trust and has always described as ‘unanimous FC’, the court that Mahama said Ghanaians don’t trust because it’s an NPP court, has given them victory now.

Asking that if they are still going to chastise it. “This is the hypocrisy of the NDC. They have decided that when a case goes against them, then they will say all sort of things against the judiciary, but when this same judiciary delivers judgement in their favour, then they jubilate and say justice has been prevailed”, he said.

Adding that “you see, they (NDC) only attack the judiciary without any legal basis and justification. They even fail to read the judgement of the judiciary. Since Mahama and the NDC lawyers don’t understand the judgement, what audacity do they have to criticize that arm of government”.

He stressed that the NDC as a party has lost its credibility in the eyes of the people as to how they behave when it come to the judiciary.

“They have tagged all the judges as NPP judges, but these same people go to these same judges and when judgement goes into their favour they turn to applaud them. I’m happy Ghanaians will now get to know that the judiciary is impartial, and they are not doing the bidding of any government. Our democracy is centered on the Judiciary because it’s the only arm of government that checks on the executive and the Legislature and uphold the rule of law of citizens”, he explained.

He commended the judiciary for always standing by the truth.
