The NDC Will Lose Elections 2024 If Mahama Leads The Party- Dr. Ebenezer Amanor

A senior lecturer at the University of Education, Winneba, Dr. Ebenezer Teye Amanor, has told the NDC that they will lose elections 2024 if former President John Dramani Mahama will be their candidate.

He predicted a win for the NDC if there’s no economic recovery- however, if the alternative is John Dramani Mahama’s led NDC then Ghanaians will choose NPP over NDC.

“We don’t need a Prophet to tell us that the NPP is on a losing battle, if things do not change from what we are witnessing currently. I side with the predictions from the Economic Intelligence Unit (EIU) that the NDC is likely to capture power in 2024. But the question is who then are they also going to present as their candidate. If it’s John Mahama they will present, then the question which will be on the lips of many Ghanaians is that what different thing is he going to present?”, he said.

Adding that the illegal mining and corruption were cankers the country was battling with during his tenure as President, what different thing was he able to do. Everything happening currently for which he’s criticizing the government for, equally happened under his watch and therefore what then could he do differently?

He advised the NDC that if they need an easy and smooth win then they need a fresh candidate with fresh ideas, then Ghanaians will easily buy into it than the candidature of former President Mahama- but if Mahama is elected as flagbearer, then the NDC have a lot of job to do, to convince Ghanaians and disrupt from their minds, the records of the former President.

“If not, then they are giving the NPP some chances of giving them a run for their money”, he added.

He stressed that the average class Ghanaian and the middle class believes the NPP have people who are capable of managing the economy better but unfortunately the middle class are not many to determine the electoral fortunes of this country.
