Communications Director for UK Branch for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NDC), Kwaku Bimpeh, has described as hate speech, the NDC’s ‘moment of truth’ press conference.
This comes after the NDC called on Bank of Ghana Governor Dr. Ernest Addison to resign immediately for his part in the losses at the central bank last year.
The NDC described the Bank of Ghana Governor, President Nana Akufo-Addo, Vice President Dr Mahamoud Bawumia and Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta as criminals.
This, Kwaku Bimpeh, described as unfortunate and a hate speech, as he noted that there are better approaches to drum home their demands.
“If you listened to what they said during that press conference, it should really tell you the kind of people they are. For a country as Ghana, where we are trying to strengthen our democracy, I don’t think parliamentarians should be parading themselves around with press conference, using uncouth words like they will be chasing the bank of Ghana governor out of office...I mean, that’s so uncalled for…we have laws in this country, and I strongly condemn what they said.”.
Kwaku Bimpeh spoke to Kwaku Dawuro on Movement In The Morning show on Movement TV/ Wontumi Radio
“If we don’t use the right approaches to address our grievances, then our democracy wouldn’t grow…the most unfortunate thing is that the Minority leader, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson is a parliamentarian, and he should have known better.”, he added.
