The NPP Hasn’t Failed- Hon. Adomako Speaks Amidst Cedi Depreciation

The Member of Parliament for Afigya Kwabre North, Collins Adomako Mensah has responded to claims that the NPP government has failed due to the rampant depreciation of the cedi against the dollar.

According to him, it will be fair for one to first look at what the figures were looking like when the party first came into power between 2017 and 2019- that speaks volume of the fact that the current situation is caused by external factors of which government shouldn’t be blamed for.

“As humans as we are, we are likely to fall but the most important thing is how you rise. We have two more years to end our mandate and by the time we get there, Ghanaians will decide on whether we have failed or not. I don’t think we have been a failure”, he told Kwaku Dawuro on Movement in the morning show.

He continued to say that “All over the world there are challenges. As I speak to you, even UK has been downgraded by moody and Ghana is not an isolated case. But then of course as a leader you take blame for such challenges and I accept that as a government we should be bold to be able to say that yes, we take the blame. But then again, we assure the Ghanaian people that things will change”.

He concluded that he’s hopeful that the expected meeting today and the subsequent days will yield positive results
