A leading member of Dr. Bawumia’s campaign team, Lawyer Adomako Baafi, has commended some former members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), for returning to the party after they had defected to Movement for Change.
Lawyer Baafi noted that it’s a step in the right direction for which they must be applauded for, and therefore, the party will gladly receive them back as members.
“We need more votes to win the elections. For one to win a Presidential election in Ghana, you need 50+ 1 % of the votes and I believe the people who have returned to the party equally have families and friends that they have influence over and will therefore ensure that their friends and families vote for the NPP. So, every single vote counts and it is for this reason that I would want to plead with the rank and file of the party to ensure that they reinstate these people as members of the party”, he told Kwaku Dawuro on Movement In The Morning show on Movement TV.
He furthered that from all indications, NPP is remains the only political party that brings hope to Ghanaians and thus, though there is “Dumsor”, when you weigh it against what the government has been able to achieve, you could clearly tell that NPP is the best political party.
This comes after about 6,000 sympathizers of Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen’s Movement for Change defected to the New Patriotic Party (NPP). The group had earlier been members of the ruling NPP who had left to follow the founder and leader of the Movement for Change after the latter quit the party.
