The Member of Parliament (MP) for Nkawkaw, Honourable Joseph Frimpong, has stated that there is hope in the 2023 Budget.
Speaking on Movement in the morning show on Movement TV/Wontumi radio, the lawmaker noted that the budget was read to address the difficulties we are facing as a nation- noting that he’s glad the budget has given clear indication on government’s ambition to end importation of many items in the country.
Commending the government for taking such a bold step, he said this is a step in the right direction and will help with the development of the country.
“If Ghanaians will be kind enough and support car manufacturing companies and organizations to produce machines such as bulldozers, excavators, graders, and tractors, it will help us overcome our dependence on external markets and will help save our resources”, he said.
Adding that the “YouStart” initiative is a very good policy to help over 300 youth to establish their own businesses. It is a bold step in the 2023 budget, and we should appreciate the government for that. it is time Ghanaians put their destiny into their own hands. We shouldn’t sit back and criticize the budget but rather take an advantage of it”.
The Member of Parliament disclosed that the MPs have set up communications team in their various constituencies, to educate Ghanaians on the budget- and therefore urged the media to equally do so, so that Ghanaians wouldn’t be deceived by the naysayers.
