Member of the communication team for the New Patriotic Party, Paul Amaning, has revealed that thorough research on the background of candidates can assist in scouting for the best to contest.
Speaking in an interview with Kwaku Dawuro, on Movement In The Morning, on Movement TV/Wontumi radio, Paul Amaning advised that a committee should be set up to investigate the backgrounds of candidates, in order to look out for the credible and capable person fit for the job. According to him, competent people who are capable of doing the job but have not come to a decision to yet, can be compelled to contest.
He stated that ”When you take the upcoming parliamentary elections, the presidential is not difficult to do, it is the parliamentary that will be difficult, selection of our parliamentary candidates, so it will yield a positive result if the party will have time to set up a committee to conduct a research in every constituency regarding the backgrounds of candidates. There are some people who have not made up their minds to contest, but they can be spoken to and convinced to contest for us to make sure we have the majority in parliament.”
