The Municipal Chief Executive for GA West, Clement Wilkinson, has described as unfortunate, the comment vby COP Alex Mensah against the current IGP.
This comes after COP Mensah had told the ad hoc committee of Parliament probing the leaked audio tape that Dr. George Akufo-Dampare is the worst IGP Ghana has ever had so far.
This, according to Hon. Clement Wilkinson is so harsh and very unfortunate.
He spoke to Kwaku Dawuro on Movement In The Morning with Kwaku Dawuro on Movement TV/ Wontumi radio.
“I don’t think it was right for COP Mensah to have described Dr. George Dampare as worst IGP. If he (COP Mensah) was the IGP, I’m very sure there would have been people who would have described him also worst…as humans, there’s no way we could please everyone. You will still have people complain and speak against you, regardless of how good your works are”, he said.
“It could also be that as citizens, we may not be purview to what is happening in the service. However, per what we say as citizens, I think the IGP deserves some commendations…he’s been doing amazingly well. If not nothing at all, we’ve seen the new uniform for the personnel, the renovation of the headquarters, among others”, he said.
“He’s done his part for Ghana…I can also say he’s done so well for Ghana…as citizens what we say might be different from what the service says, but per what we see, he’s been amazing. First, is their uniforms and look at how their headquarters have been ren0vated”, he added.
