Legal Practitioner, Maurice Ampaw, has advised supporters and sympathizers of the ruling party to see and treat former Judge of the Supreme court, William Atuguba as a politician and not as a retired judge.
According to him, certain utterances from the former Supreme court Judge is an indication that he’s doing the bind of the opposition party, NDC and must be treated as a politician.
“A former Supreme court Judge describing his own colleagues as foolish is just below the belt…I’m coming hard on Atuguba because I think he just doesn’t like peace…He has descended into the political arena…since when he knew that constitution of Ghana needed to be reviewed…didn’t he know this during the NDC’s era? the attack on the system and the use of such unprintable words is just uncouth…”, he said.
He further called on all NPP supporters to treat Atuguba not as a retired court Judge, but as a politician because he has shown his political colours.
“If we are not careful, he’s going to do worser than he’s started. I’m sure he’s only tired of his retirement and want to enter into the political landscape…This is the reason I said per what he’s doing Mahama should consider him as a running mate because he’s getting into the gutters for the party…”, he emphasized.
He expressed his displeasure over the attacks against the judiciary by a former member of the arm of government.
“The Judicial is struggling to regain its integrity and confidence due to the recent denigrations from Mahama and the NDC and then you decide to join them do worser things…I don’t see him as a former Supreme court Judge…he’s now a politician”, he said.
