The head of local governance, Ing. Dr. Nana Ato Arthur, has revealed the possible establishment of the University of Local Government at Akomadaa in the Ashanti Region.
He said this when he joined Kwaku Dawuro on Movement In The Morning Show.
”The ultra modern facility we have established at Akomadaa near offinso is more than a university. The project is in collaboration with Local Government Service and Administrator, Common Fund. It qualifies as a university. Initially we wanted to use it as a Human Resource Development Centre of the local service, but upon several reflection we realized we cannot maintain as a Human Resource Centre, so we decided to make it a University; The University of Local Governance, will become the head of Institute of Local Governance Studies”, he stated.
He assured the Local Government Service is committed to contributing to building Ghana’s economy.
