The regional director of elections and research for the New Patriotic Party, Ebenezer Doku, has said that the vote censure against the finance minister, is much ado about nothing.
He noted during an interview with Kwaku Dawuro on Movement in the morning show in as much as even the NPP MPs wants the finance minister out, the NDCs are not the ones to tell dictate to them, on how to go about it.
“They should leave it for us. The fact that we’ve said that we won’t support their vote of censure doesn’t mean we’ve backtracked on our resolve to get Ofori-Atta sacked. Because we know that if he steps aside a little, it will do the country some good by restoring confidence in our economy”, he said.
He explained that they are not doing so out of hatred but it’s for the good of the party.
“Just as we know, It’s the party that births the government so if it gets to a point where the party speaks, it’s just right that the government listens. The whole party cannot be wrong, and one man be right- from the national party to the constituency, everyone is requesting for just one thing, and we are not doing this to disgrace the party but for the party to continue to be in power”, he stressed.
He added that the President has spent his two terms likewise the finance minister and they will retire afterwards- but for them, they will continue to communicate for the party.
