Watch As Ghana Police Intercept 17 Boxes Of Alleged Smuggled Gold At KIA

The Ghana Police Service has intercepted 17 boxes of gold suspected to be part of an illegal smuggling operation at Kotoka International Airport (KIA).

The gold was reportedly set to be transported to Dubai via Emirates Airlines.

This development follows claims by US-based vlogger Kevin Taylor, who alleged on social media that the gold was linked to the Akuffo Addo family.

His post sparked public interest and reportedly led to individuals storming the airport to demand action.

The seized gold has been transferred to the Regional Police Headquarters in Greater Accra for further investigations.

This incident highlights ongoing concerns over gold smuggling, which costs Ghana an estimated $2 billion annually in lost tax revenue.
